Hummm, isnt it an unwritten rule in any type of game that if you dont score any points that it is a "down trouser", well it looks like H2O maybe doing just that. I nominate my partner Allan to do that should we remain at 0 points. This might just be enough to scare us into scoring lol

I think you are ok so long as you actually score some points in your brainoffs :)

Is that a strange New Zealand habit - downing trousers?  Thank goodness I rarely were them always in skirts or dresses.  Hang on - except when I am in New Zealand!!!  GULP!!  ***quietly crosses the North Island off her 2019 itinerary***

Truely? Never heard of it - we have dakking- pulling someone's pants/trousers down - but that is done just to be aggravating - LOL!

I have only ever encountered it when playing 8-ball as mentioned below - needless to say I have always been very careful to sink at least one ball.

"New Zealand has its own pool movie,Stickmen (2001). It features the local custom of the ‘down trou’. Generally observed in pub or student games, the custom dictates that a player who loses without sinking any of their balls is expected to drop their trousers."

Button-on braces could be of use.

So  I looked up debagging which is what I'd heard of as Oxford and Cambridge students bullying weaker/lower class students in the early 20th century (Evelyn Waugh, I think Decline and Fall) and found as a bullying technique it seems to still exist everywhere - daxing in Australia.

Is there a tradition in non-English speaking countries? I suspect so as stripping clothes/regalia is a form of humiliation. Down-trousering sounds a bit more voluntary - not sure if I should beg for the pictures or beg not to see them.

Beg not to see them sounds the better choice

No idea why but one of the H20 vs 2 Constantine games seems to have registered twice so 2 Constantine actually had 11 wins and 5 losses putting them in 3rd place with Twooky and Toby first and 2B or not 2B second. Congrats to the winners and well done to the placegetters.

Make sure you have signed up to the Decathlon which starts tomorrow.

HURRAY!  No down-trousering for anybody.

Thanks chooky for being a pal and winning teammate. Congratulations to 2B or not 2B and to 2 Constantine, whose brilliant name took me more than 2 days 2 grasp. A special shout out to Conspectus who hasn't taken part in many tournaments, I might be beginning to regret nagging him to take part in tournaments:) See you next week?

Thank you very much JMK. I liked the rounds coming so frequently, a function of 2 to a team, so more combinations of teams to play against. (Aso it made me realise how often we use tutus)

Has anyone thought about our previous comments about going turn and turn about with Tea for two, one time chosen partners/next time randomly allocated partners?

Good plan - but will it be 2 2 hard or not 2 hard at all?
