Barb is alive and well. Their bottom floor is flooded, but they have food and water and can cook. No heat but a gas stove. She is bored because she can't communicate with us. She can charge her cell phone in the car and listen to the radio.I hope they can get in a hotel for hot water and heat. The dogs and rest of the family are fine. Send her good thoughts and she will be back when they have power. Lucy

Thanks, all you, nice guys! I will be able to play the Kevvie. I can come to the library since it ;looks doubtfull that we will get power for up to another week or longer. Reaching insurance people, cleanup crews, and FEMA is ridiculous. I will, however, be able to vote, my civic duty, on Tuesday! LOL See you all soon!

Ajax, yes, it did and until this moment, I apologize for not even thinking of it. Things have been incredibly confusing and I thank you so much for sending it. When I go over to the house this afternoon I will look for it. I think I know where it is....I hope my mind isn't going.....the flooding has been a really awful thing. The demolition continues today. THANK YOU! Ajax, you are so sweet!

You are all really great and even if I rabble rouse I really love all of you. Now before I get maudlin I will update you on my situation. I had the entire downstairs level ripped out and disinfected and the crawlspace hat to have sand shoveled out. Believe it or not, we had small fish swimming in the room! Poor misguided fish! Another highlight was when the freezer with rotting food was slopped onto a 30 yd rolloff dumpster! Gack! Horror stories abound and mine was bad but the worst is over. At this moment the workmen are completing the rubbish removal and sanitizing of the belongings we are keeping from that room. Tomorrow is a new gas heater and hot water heater so I have to rely upon my dogs for heat!

Thank you all for showing me what great friends I have! XXXXXXXXXXXXX

I am always happy to take on another dog, Ajax. They are more loving and appreciative of me than most humans. I am already considering getting a large one, a Belgian Tuveren, as protection and for lovies as well!

The men who ripped out the sheetrock in the affected areas of the house found a natural mousetrap. It contained stacks of field mice in varied stages of mummification, the lowest level skeletal and a foot higher wer the "newly dead" They are going to send me a disc with pictures! After the salwater bath my house it totally exterminated! No ants, spiders or mice!

well i didn't know what a merkin was, but actually now that i've read up on em, i think i prefer the real thing. that might make for a rather patriotic merkin. were you gonna model that for us Ajax?

Hell no. But you see why the place for a merkin is known as a map of Tassie.

As in....

"Show us ya map of Tassie!!"

.....the cry of the yobbo when seeing attractive females from a distance.

Normally unsuccessful, by that I mean I haven't heard of a case were it was successful, but if that did happen I am sure it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

*yobbo - an uncouth, uncultured, loud-mouthed Australian, usually intoxicated, and most probably male, or a female softball player.

well i used to know some pretty good old boys that claimed to live in amerca. sometimes they'd call it merca. not to be confused with a merkin, which is a pubic wig originally for gals, but also for guys. an intriguing concept. probly win a nobel prize or sumthin of that sort.

well i fer one was surprised (though really not all that displeased) to learn that such a wig existed, anyway maybe not a good topic for public consumption, & that may have been a bad choice of words, so guess i'll just shut the hell up now. (wouldn't be the first time it had been suggested)
