Well blow me down twice - at last we got something right in this country at the very highest level and wowed THE WORLD whilst doing it. Anybody who does not agree is obviously on a different planet.

After the BANKING fiasco's (too many to list), the failure of g4s (security for the Olympics) and others things that our government have been responsible for I for one was truly proud to be a Brit last night (not just a Scot). So well done Danny Boyle and all those involved especially the VOLUNTEERS who gave up their time ect. to bring a show worthy of the WORLD watching.

Seconding that Shorty, a great performance by all and an especial thanks to the volunteers.

A special touch, among many I admired, was having all those construction workers lined up to greet the torch as it came through the tunnel....very thoughtful....and a tribute I've never seen in other Olympics. The lighting! The fireworks! The music!
The beautiful children! A multitude of perfect Mary Poppinses with sparkling raindrops on the points of their umbrellas! It was overwhelmingly eye-popping!
All of you with connections to Great Britain must be SO PROUD...rightly so! Many congratulations and cheers to all!! :)

Arise, Sir Daniel!

Cracking job.

They're currently about half way through dismantling and removing the set for the ceremony to make the place fit for the athletics. It took them three months to build the set and they're having to get rid of it and make the track ready in just four days.

Sorry - I like the behind the scenes stuff...

You are just a curious sleuth, Factenstein! We would never have known that! Did you go there?

No, I went to the Olympic judo. I could see the Olympic stadium but only from a distance.

I heard about the dismantling of the set on the radio.
