Just thought I'd post this to see if anyone has topics they feel are "ridiculous"

I do feel any topic should be removed as the person who contributed it obviously felt it was relevant as a fact. however as they are being removed anyway i thought I'd see what people didn't like if that's ok?

Samples [ i dont even know what this is about]
Singapore LRT stations
Baseball - Teams Of The Negro Leagues
Cannes Palme d'Or
Detroit Techno Records
Movie Stars That DIDN'T Get the Role
Dewey Decimal System - Generalities
Dewey Decimal System - Geography and History
Dewey Decimal System - Languages
Dewey Decimal System - Literature
Dewey Decimal System - Natural Sciences and Mathematics
Dewey Decimal System - Philosophy and Psychology
Dewey Decimal System - Religion
Dewey Decimal System - Social Sciences
Dewey Decimal System - Technology Applied Sciences
Dewey Decimal System - The Arts
MLB Team Names in Latin
Kiwiana - New Zealand Icons
Visigoth Kings

to name a few!!!!!

So what's wrong with these topics?

Why should they be removed?

you were the one who asked me to give you topics that i felt were not working or ridiculous, so i have.

what was wrong with the ones you deleted?

Sure, Tushers - but there need to be reasons for removing a topic besides someone not liking or understanding it.

There's no problem having topics which are only going to be of interest to a few people - providing they're well-formatted and so forth. Of those you've suggested, the only one which I'd question would be Kiwiana - because it doesn't really fit the format particularly well.

The rest of them are accurate and well-suited to the format. Ones we have deleted have all been ones which fall short of the guidelines for contribution that I gave to you, in some way.

look forgive me im really upset today, under a lot of pressure, with yesterdays news and DAve going into hospital today for a serious operation tomorrow, im worried sick, i dont mean to take it out on you.

i think the dewey is ridiculous, no one can learn that and i tend to do topics i can learn, not memorise.

No problem, Tushers. No offense taken and I quite understand you being upset.

Nobody can learn Dewey? You'd be surprised. I used to know a librarian who claimed to know the Dewey system.

anyway i meant this thread to be where ppl can vent frustrations at topic they hate, doesnt mean they will be removed or anything like it, as i said to you the other night, because i dont like it does not make it invalid.

Fair enough Tushers. In future I shall let you vent your frustrations without getting in the way. :)

I agree with Tush on the Singapore LRT Stations. A useless topic with no interest quality whatsoever and of so minimal a use for almost everyone, as, by the way are Dublin mail posts or what ever they are called! Sorry Tush. Sometimes it all comes down to"Who cares. Dewey Decimal sytem is dry, and not a hot topic but surely a valid and important subect which, if memorized brings a wealth of information to one. Of course, it can be trumped easily by looking up the information on computer or even a card atalog, but it is just an irritating topic. Life sucks, Tush, Dewey wanted it that way! There are a bunch of baddies in there. I have not even scoured it. I just play the ones I like for fun and to hell with the rest.. Why keep it the Singapore one? Sling it!

If a topic plays okay and fits the contribution guidelines there is no reason to remove it. LRT is not available for random play so you are not going to get it when you least expect it. Just because a subject is of interest to a small number of people is not grounds for removal.

Yup. What is more likely to see some action is to report what you don't like seeing in the randoms rather than subjects you want removed altogether.
Anyway, vent on.

Wabzy i dont mind you dont like dublin postal codes, it is not obvious teh answers unless you know dublin and understand teh politics of teh coding system.

other countries postal codes are predictable, the UK i believe each postal code represents 5 - 10 houses so it is really good, the Irish one represents an area. 4 being teh best, 13 being one of the worst. the south side of the city is the best and the best off and these are all even numbers, the North and West are all , sorry mostly Odd, the best odd place to live in the west is 15, [where i live!!!!] but i was rared in 18, also good, but not as rich as 4!!!!!

understand now why its interesting!!!!!!! only joking!!!!!

i think its good we have somewhere to go to give out!!!!! no one has to agree or justify why or what... jsut give out!!!!!!!
