Ghost is a written or spoken word game in which players take turns adding letters to a growing word fragment, trying not to be the one to complete a valid word. Each fragment must be the beginning of an actual word. Only words with 4+ letters will count as valid.
Do you think we can pull it off? This one is a bit complicated! The first person will post a letter:
The next person to post will add one:
Person 3 posts:
*Remember words will only count as valid if they contain at least 4 letters so 1, 2, & 3 letter words are OK and will not lose you the game.
The game continues:
Finally, player 9 posts:
The next player concedes the game as he has no choice but to play an N, spelling a word and ending the game with player 9 as the winner.
If you believe a player has played a letter that cannot possibly be added on to form a real word, you can challenge them. In other words: the letter you play has to leave the possibility of the chain of letters eventually spelling out a real word.
If you believe a player has spelled a word yet not conceded (as long as it is 4+ letters!) you can challenge them by defining the word.
In both of these cases the challenged player has the chance to argue their case.
In the interest of the game continuing, the challenger will always play the initial letter for the next word. The preceding game will be won by the winner of the challenge.
