The golfers have arrived from across the globe. We are all a bit jetlagged, but the perpetually perfect weather in Pebble Beach should have us all ready to tee off shortly.

Good luck to all in both the individual and Pro-Am tournaments!

It is nice to play first as you are always the clubhouse leader when you're the first to post.

You can find me reclining shoreside watching the afternoon play. Though I may be incapacited before too long; I have just poured myself a John Daly.

Good luck everybody.

After finally playing a few of these golf holes (and imbibing some of this bucket of Busch Light), my thoughts:

Playing these are a bit more like the daily frenzies, with a bit of the snooker thrown in.

Played safe (slowly) on a couple, and didn't miss but realized on the last question even if I got it right I couldn't get a big score as I had played too safely.

However, had I taken more risks I might have blown a few easy shots.

Blowing a birdie/eagle/etc isn't the best feeling but holing out from the deep sand to save a shot sure is! Had one of those today, was quite nice.

First round about half done.  Rmcmanus shares the lead with me in the singles tournament, with Seve right at our heels.

Philgreek and Ruby Franks have been the best team in the Pro-Am so far, leading by 3 strokes at the moment.

Nemesis moves into the lead by one in the solo tourney. Still plenty of people within reach with the back 9 left to play. Vepa has had the round of the day so far, six under par.

Shortbread, Phil and Bryn have made some nice moves up the leaderboard today.

Yet to be seen if anyone can match the robust pace set by Bryn/Rmcmanus.  Will take some great afternoon play to overtake them.

Only two scores better than eagle so far this tournament, and both are on Quiz3000's scorecard.

JMK3000 moves into 2nd in the Pro-Am, Quiz moves into solo 3rd.

Just four left on the course finishing up their front 9.

Thanks to my teammate Java for matching my eagle on the 9th! That's the lowest team score per hole so far, and with it we move one shot ahead of Rmcmanus/Bryn Middleton. Ruby Franks and Philgreek moved up to third with two teams left to finish their rounds.

We're about halfway through day 3. Seve finally broke his birdie streak with an eagle which took him into the lead at the moment. Bryn joins Quiz3000 in the Albatross (-3) club this tournament.

In the Pro-Am, Bertie and Mapmaker have the clubhouse lead.

We'll see if the few left to finish up take advantage of moving day.

Singles

  • Quiz now has 3 albatrosses, Bryn one (nearly the first condor!), and Nemesis one.
  • Speaking of Nemesis, with an eagle and albatross today he stayed atop the leaderboard.
  • Quiz pulled even with Nemesis after 11 holes, and sits in second place with one day to play.
  • The leaderboard is packed tight. Anybody could take this thing on day 4 with the right holes.

Pro-Am

  • Nemesis/Helen McKenzie and Quiz3000/JMK have tied the best team hole (-4). Well done.
  • Ruby Franks/Philgreek are clubhouse leaders at the moment.
  • This one will come down to the last day too. Will depend on the holes!

Things are close so just as a reminder: in case of ties, Sudden Death playoff holes will be issued on Friday. This applies to both tournaments.

Bwah. Ended with a bogey! Good luck all on the last day!

JMK3000 lead the teams, Nemesis leads the solo tourney.  Neither are runaways, so will depend on today's play.

Irish coffee for me, with whipped cream on top. Some really crummy putting on the back 9 for me! A couple duck hook drives too...

Singles

  • Seve is in the clubhouse with the lead, after 17 birdies and 1 eagle this tournament. Yet to see if his number will be beaten!
  • Nem, Quiz, Ruby and Vepa are all still capable of catching Seve.

Pro-Am

  • Bryn and Rmcmanus are in the lead after a great finish. Java & myself were leading them by 2 with one hole left to play, but Bryn and Rmcmanus were (-3) on 18, pulling off a 4 shot swing and leaving us two behind.
  • Mapmaker and Bertie sit in third in the clubhouse.
  • Ruby/Phil and Quiz/JMK are in the best position to catch Bryn/Rmcmanus. I wouldn't count out Vepa/Tallyho or Nemesis/Helen yet though. Both of those teams are capable of going low!

Singles

  • Nemesis ended his round with an albatross followed by three eagles, opening quite a large gap at the top. Amazing finish!
  • Ruby has moved up to 3rd, just one shot back of Seve.

Pro-Am

  • Ruby and Phil had a great final day and have moved to the top of the leaderboard, knocking Bryn and Rmcmanus into 2nd.
  • Helen and Nemesis moved from last all the way into a tie for third with their fine finishes today.

Quiz/JMK need a combined (-7) to tie Ruby/Phil. Quiz needs to average above eagles to catch Nemesis.

Final Leaderboards Posted.

Singles

  • Nemesis is the Pebble Beach champion, by 3 strokes over Quiz3000.
  • Nemesis had 8 holes of eagle or better, while Quiz had 5 albatrosses. Amazing play.
  • Seve's 17 birdies took him to 3rd place, just edging out Ruby and Vepa.
  • Philgreek was the most improved from the first golf tournament by far. Ended up 8 under par, over 10 strokes better than his score at the Open. Well done!
  • Helen had a rough front 9, but was under par on the back 9, a 7 stroke improvement over her first 9 holes. Well done!

Pro-Am

  • JMK and Quiz3000 were an incredible 19 under par on the back 9 to rocket past a packed leaderboard. Amazing finish from them, well played. They are the winners at -30 combined.
  • Philgreek and Ruby finished 2nd, having both had strong singles tournaments.
  • Bryn and Rmcmanus battled through injuries, surgeries, double bogies, fired caddies, and lost balls, but finished 3rd overall. They wholly earned the bottle of Hendrick's which they have absconded with.
  • Vepa and Tallyho just missed the podium, finishing one behind RmcBryn. Helen/Nem and Java/BB tied for 5th.
  • Bertie and Mapmaker were extremely solid and displayed great teamwork, always covering each other's rough holes. With a couple points here and they, they would have been near the top.
  • Seve and Sally got off to a rough start. Another one of those teams that did not get any of the luck with the holes this time.
  • Allan and Shortbread had the hard holes at least 3 of the 4 days.  They were playing against the wind more often than not. Kudos to them for finishing 11 under par after a rough start!
