WELCOME to the Mythsterious History Tournament
Is history your forte?
Consider yourself a mythology maestro?
Is your timeline your best friend?
Do you count hydra heads in your sleep?
Are you a handy historian or a marvellous mythologist?
Do you play Name that Deity at parties?
Are all your dates on calendars?
Or do you just want a bit of fun?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then this is the tournament for you.

The Mythsterious History Tournament will commence on Monday April 23rd at approximately 8.15 am GMT give or take an hour or so..
The rules are listed below. To take part, simply post “I’m in” in this thread. Sign-up closes 6am Monday April 23rd GMT.
Just to make it interesting!
We will be running a rally competition alongside the Mythsterious History tournament. If you sign up for the Mythsterious History Tournament you will be automatically entered in the rally comp, although if you don't play it won't affect your Mythsterious History Tournament scores as these will be totally separate.
You will get one music subject rally each day for the five days. These will be in the subjects:
Roman Gods
20th Century Events
They Died in 2010
Battles and Sieges
They Were Born 1900-1909

The winner will be the person with the highest total for the 5 rallies. Scores will not be capped.

GENERAL RULES AND INFORMATION
Competition will consist of six (6) different History & Mythology subject brainoffs of 10 questions being sent everyday for five days - a total of 30 different History & Mythology subjects. You will receive brainoffs from ‘Tournament’. Only the Tournament Organiser and her Partner have knowledge of the subjects to be sent. Hopefully there will be something to suit everyone.

The competition will be an individual one. The individual with the highest cumulative total wins. A progressive Results Table will be posted in a public forum. In the case of a tie The Tournament Organiser or her Partner will send three (3) specific subject brainoffs to break the tie. Awards will be given at the end of the tournament for whatever takes the fancy of Tournament Organiser and her Partner.

In case the Factacular site hiccups, we will spring into action and resolve issues as soon as the site is up and running and continue with the competition. We do respectfully ask that everyone play their challenges as soon as possible after receiving them --- you will be less likely be affected if the site goes down. We will only replay challenges if the site is down for more than 12 hours on the last day of a challenge. We will not replay for anyone letting the challenge time out or for minor site glitches. If you drop through a challenge without being able to play PM JMK as the challenge can be reset if you do it early enough.
The Tournament Organiser or her Partner volunteer their own time, so have some patience with the resolution of any problems that you may encounter and expect that there may be delays in the immediate posting of results as these are updated manually. Please send a private message to JMK or Javalyne if you encounter problems or discrepancies. Decisions made by Tournament Organiser or her Partner are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
So…
Invite other members to come and play! Let’s see a spirit of fun and lots of friendly comments in the brainoffs. Remember - it’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.
