The first half of the famous comedy team of Laurel and Hardy. he was a English comedy actor, writer and director. he came as part of Fred Karno's touring troupe of actors (which included Charlie Chaplin) to America in 1910. he teamed with Oliver Hardy from 1927 to 1954.
