(1946-1960) He bowled with pace, accuracy & effective late out-swing. His best Test series was in England in 1948 when he took 27 wickets at an average of 19.62. He became Australiaâ€™s leading Test wicket-taker when he passed Clarrie Grimmettâ€™s record of 216. An all-rounder, he scored two Test centuries. He captained Australia in a Test against India at Bombay in 1956.
