Played by Burgess Meredith in the TV series and Danny DeVito in the movie version Penguins make their nest in either burrows or rock crevices and they line these nests with plant material. When the females arrive at the colonies they are met by noisy males trying to court them. Breeding time is June through August and usually 2 eggs are laid. These take approx 36 days to hatch.
